Before even starting this piece, I had to check Twitter just to make sure Frank Lampard has not been sacked. At time of writing he is the current Chelsea manager, but make no mistake the sharks are circling.

Tuesday night’s 2-0 reverse to an excellent Leicester side was a fifth defeat in eight league matches. The visit of Championship side Luton should represent a chance for Lampard and his players to restore some confidence. Chelsea currently sit nineth in the top flight, while the visitors are 13th in the Championship.

Timo Werner to score first

The first punt I’m tipping for this one is for Timo Werner to be the first goalscorer. The German has had a torrid time of late and has managed to play himself out of the first team recently with some poor displays.

He has seemed like a polar bear in the jungle, but on Tuesday night looked lively when summoned from the bench. He was also a whisker away from getting a much-needed goal for his confidence, but VAR had other ideas.

Lampard would have seen that bit of spark back in the player and I suspect we may see the former RB Leipzig man start this one. If he starts, I fancy him to pick off where he left off Tuesday night and finally hit the back of the net.

Chelsea Half-Time / Full Time

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Chelsea’s last three FA Cup ties and I expect that to be the case in this one, but it is odds on and very short in the betting. Chelsea Half-Time / Full Time is slightly better value, but looks a sure thing.

This is my second best bet for this one, but f you are feeling in the zone you may invest in a 4-0 win for Chelsea too. The Blues were 4-0 winners against Morecambe in the last round.

N’Golo Kante and Cesar Azpilicueta to be booked

There are definitely a couple of players I fancy to be booked in this game. The biggest offender at Chelsea this season for yellow cards is N’Golo Kante. He has six bookings to his name this season.

Meanwhile, Cesar Azpilicueta has four. Both of these experienced players are expected to feature, and I reckon there is value in both players being carded.
