19:45 – Luton Town v QPR: Luton Town To Win & Both Teams To Score

Despite both being founded in the 1880’s, it’s surprising that Luton Town and QPR don’t know too much about each other. Prior to Luton Town winning the League One title – en route to the Championship some 20 months ago – the sides hadn’t met in 12 years in all competitions.

Saying that, they made up for that absence in the two head-to-heads last season, when the ‘R’s won a frenetic five-goal affair in September before the sides played out a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road in mid-July. On both of those occasions, backing both teams to score would have been a winner and in fact, both sides have found the back of the net in five of the last six clashes between the clubs. So that bodes well ahead of Tuesday night’s Championship encounter.

A total of nine points currently separates the sides and that would be a good deal more if it wasn’t for QPR’s improved away form, as they’re unbeaten in their last trips away from their London home. Saying that, they head to Luton on the back of a nine-game winless streak in the league and they’ve failed to score more than one goal since their last league victory – which came at home to Rotherham exactly seven weeks ago. That kind of form won’t prevent them from dropping to League Two football.

Luton Town will look at this as a golden opportunity to move closer to challenging for a play-off spot and with only two defeats on home soil this season, they look hard to oppose. They’re unbeaten in their last six home games and in that period, they convincingly beat league leaders Norwich City and held title-chasing Bournemouth.

Even last Saturday in the FA Cup, they were good value for their 1-0 win over Reading, who currently sit third in the Championship. So, a home win looks inevitable here and it’s tempting to get stuck in to that punt.

However, in the Hatters’ 14 home games this season, they have failed to keep a clean sheet on eight occasions and with QPR coming into this game with much improved away form, they’re value to find the net here. That’s especially given that they’ve scored in six of their last seven away games in the Championship. So, the best bet at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night is Luton Town to win and both teams to score.

19.45pm – Bournemouth v Millwall: Junior Stanislas To Score Anytime

The second of Tuesday night’s Championship ties sees the first league meeting between Bournemouth and Millwall in over five years and given the Cherries’ home form this season, this won’t be a game that the Lions will be looking forward to.

Only one defeat in 10 homes games this season is a huge reason to why Jason Tindall’s side sit third in the table and that’s with a game in hand over both Norwich City & Swansea. Only Preston North End have won at the Vitality Stadium and that was a game in which Bournemouth found themselves 3-0 down before Junior Stanislas’ goal started a late Bournemouth comeback, which nearly paid off.

That Stanislas strike was one of seven he’s already scored in 17 appearances this season and in his last four starts at home, he’s found the net every single time. On Tuesday night Stanislas faces a Millwall side who’ve only won one of their last six games on the road in the Championship.

So, having also scored the winner in the 1-0 win away to Stoke 10 days ago, the 31-year-old will be brimming with confidence. Throw in the fact that he was rested in Saturday’s FA Cup win over Oldham, and there’s every reason to believe that Stanislas will score in his fifth consecutive home game against Millwall.
