Liverpool Football Club appear to be kicking into the gear and that spells trouble for all of us who, to this point, have enjoyed laughing at *insert your Premier League club* here’s form to this point.
It does seem like they’ve found a gear – one similar to the gear in which they cruised to their first-ever Premier League title, and my next big question is – if they can navigate this typically-awful run of festive fixtures, who’s going to stop them?

Jurgen Klopp was in the media recently speaking about West Brom being a proper test for his side, which is probably a dig at Palace more than it is an endorsement of Sam Allardyce, but I take his point.
I mean, bringing in Big Sam to try and get a scalp off a big club after the previous manager was sacked after taking a point off City seems somewhat unorthodox, but, both literally and figuratively, ‘tis the season.

Also, the Reds appear to have had eight days off in the middle of the Christmas period? I wonder if the German boss will be complaining about that?
I presume not.

I probably don’t need to spend a tonne of time on this.
But playing Sam Allardyce’s teams are one of the very few guarantees you get in the Premier League if you’re a big side.
Especially ‘round Christmas when he’s had a couple of glasses of red, one or two Yorkshire puddings and knows full well there’s busier days to come.
Allardyce, like all very good bottom-rung managers in the top tier, understand resource. For a side like West Brom who lack any clear passage to winning a game of football, he knows that he must utilise the energy of a squad wisely.
And let me tell you – that won’t be happening at Anfield two days after Christmas.
Over 1.5 First Half Liverpool Goals
A bit like actual Christmas Day – you know full-well that most of the work is done early doors. If you’re in charge of the dinner, you do the prep the night before. If you’re into present distribution, you know it happens first-thing when you wake up so it’s not hanging over you all day.
Liverpool will be much the same – and combined with what must be the single-longest break any football club have managed to gain during the holiday season, I’m sure they’ll be right as rain come the 27th.

There is a mutual understanding at Christmas between fans and players, where supporters gleefully accept that results are paramount and performances don’t matter.
This will very much be the case as Klopp looks to utilise his substitutions and disrupt the flow of the game that’s all but over at half-time. Going for the jugular in consecutive games isn’t very Liverpool – and they know that keeping some of that firepower for the challenges ahead is a wiser decision to make.
Over 0.5 Second Half West Brom Goals
I feel like we can give them one – it’s Christmas? Also the nature of the flow of the game in the second half should really benefit them in terms of set pieces and picking up free kicks because Liverpool have downed tools.
I also quite like the price.
