Paddy’s football ambassador Phil Thompson is back to offer up his thoughts on one of his former sides, Sheffield United, and their chances against Brighton on Sunday.
The Blades are in terrible form but can Thommo see them kick starting their season at The Amex on Sunday?
Brighton v Sheffield United
I’m an ex-Blade so I’m feeling for Sheffield United. You’re thinking, ‘Where’s this all gone so wrong?’ They were one of the most talked about teams last year. We loved the way they played, they had a great defence, they could always nick goals and it all seems to have fallen apart.
I keep saying, ‘they’re only just losing by the odd goal each week’. But they can’t seem to get out of this rut. One point from 13 games. The worse start in top flight history!

Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
They’ve conceded in every game. It’s absolutely astonishing. Brighton have not done so bad defensively I think there’s only Manchester City who have had a better shots ratio on goal.
Defensively they seem to have done alright. This is going to be very, very tight. Brighton haven’t won in their last four games, they finished 0-0 last time out against Fulham but I’m going for Brighton to win this one. It’s more doom and gloom for Sheffield United.
THOMMO’S TIP: I’m going for 2-1 to Brighton and Neal Maupay to Score Anytime.
