We’ve only just reached December but this season is already a write-off for many Arsenal fans after a disastrous run of form which culminated in a dismal defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.

Goals from Son Heung-min and Harry Kane were enough to secure a 2-0 win for Spurs in the first North London derby of the campaign and consigned the Gunners to their fourth straight Premier League game without a win.

Mikel Arteta’s side have just 13 points from their first 11 matches, leaving them 15th in the table and closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League qualification places.

Arsenal do have a perfect record of five wins from five in a poor Europa League group, but this has done little to lift the pressure on their beleaguered boss and some supporters have already begun to turn on under-fire Arteta.

It’s easy to see that the Gunners are in trouble, so here at Paddy Power we’ve priced up some special markets to reflect their strife – and allow plucky punters to benefit from their struggles.

Starting with Arteta, the stylish Spaniard is 11/1 to no longer be Arsenal manager on December 25, 2020 while those odds tumble dramatically to 11/10 for him to get the boot by the end of the season.

We also reckon its fairly likely that the 38-year-old could try and get the fanbase back on side with a tactical appearance on Arsenal Fan TV before the curtain drops on the end of the campaign.

Arsenal actually started the season in fine form, picking up four wins from their first five matches and only dropping points to reigning champions Liverpool.

However, it unravelled rapidly after that and if things continue this way they could be in danger of finishing mired in the bottom half of the table.

They’re 12/1 to finish 16th or lower while only 10/3 to accumulate less than 51 points this season – both very plausible outcomes based on their current situation.

A serious problem for Arteta and co is the ongoing struggles of star striker and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international has just two goals so far this Premier League campaign and is 7/4 to score less than 10 goals this term.

Another misfiring forward is record signing Nicolas Pepe, who arrived from Lille for £72m in 2019 but has spectacularly failed to justify his price tag.

The Ivorian is 7/2 to leave for less than £40m in 2021, which would represent a huge loss and a massive mistake in the transfer market from Arsenal.

Problem playmaker Mesut Ozil is odds-on not to play a Premier League match for the Gunners this term, despite his reported £300,000-a-week wages, while even Gunnersaurus is under threat with the recently reinstated mascot 100/1 to not be around by the end of 2021.

Gunnersaurus

A drastic solution may be the answer so we’ve even priced up Piers Morgan to become the club’s Director of Football at 250/1. We’ve got our fingers crossed for that one.
