Football tips: Vardy can pile misery on Klopp to land our 15/1 Same Game Multi

Nothing like a top of the table clash to end a footballing feast on Sunday.

Liverpool and Leicester headline a Sunday that brings us back to relative normality, but perhaps the context makes it ever so slightly weirder. The Reds need to land three points to leapfrog Brendan Rodgers and return to the summit, pending Spurs not beating Man City on Saturday evening.

The weird thing about this fixture is that there’s major urgency in these games like there has been in recent seasons because nobody can keep up a run of form. Therefore, you feel as if – even if you drop points – you’re never more than a result away from landing yourself right back in the melting pot.

That lack of focus has led to the most unusual yet sickly enjoyable Premier League campaign in years? And why? Because it doesn’t feel like a lot of super clubs churning out boring to-nil wins every week.

And there’ll be nobody putting up a duck egg here either, I can promise you that. You might not even recognise the XIs these teams can field given the respective injury crises. Kind of feels like a soap opera doesn’t it? Oh, how I love drama. Here’s your Same Game Multi:

Brendan Rodgers

Leicester or the Draw

Just to confirm – odds-on about a Liverpool team missing Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and Mo Salah absolutely smacks of a coupon buster, so don’t even go near it. I much prefer Leicester to grab at least a point here, especially as Vardy will now operate in that flank up against a jaded Andy Robertson who had his own issues midweek with a strain.

If Thiago and Fabinho can’t come back in time either, they’re going to be rightly up against it. There are too many goals in a Brendan Rodgers unit to back against them at least getting something when they’re playing a Liverpool side missing so many key men.

Jurgen Klopp

Over 4.5 Goals

It just feels as if this game will be mistaken-filled because that’s been the story of both of these teams’ seasons, particularly as neither of these teams’ XIs will have lined out together before. The joy of having Rodgers as a manager is that he simply does not sit in and soak up pressure, nor does he believe in one-nil victories. Not that The Foxes are known for keeping clean sheets in the first place either.

Coming back to Anfield always makes you want to get the extra 5% out of your unit and I believe we’ll see something end-to-end here. Also, it’s not as if Leicester haven’t been stung by injury woes. Daniel Amartey and Caglar Soyuncu will definitely miss this game, while questions remain over the fitness of Timothy Castagne, Wilf Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira and Wesley Fofana. Hardly ideal preparation. Hasn’t that been the story of this season to date, too?

Jamie Vardy to Have 3 or More Shots

Shoot on sight has been his motto from the word go, and that will continue here especially as Liverpool don’t have a centre half left aware enough to close that space inside between full back and himself in which Vardy likes to take aim from.

Jamie Vardy to Score Anytime

Don’t be surprised if he scores from one of those many shots as well and don’t forget, he’s Leicester penalty taker too.
