You know the feeling when you haven’t eaten anything in a few hours, and then you’ll have a considerably higher opinion of the very next thing you’ll taste? Yeah, welcome to the early Sunday kickoffs in the Premier League.
It’s been a long international break. It’s tested our patience at times. But it’s been banished into the realm of uncertainty once more and at least on the Irish side of the Irish Sea, we don’t have to watch that rubbish for four whole months.
However, we do need to actually check in on how the table looks in the Premier League. Fulham and Everton is a gorgeously nostalgia top-tier fixture as both teams scrap for an Intertoto Cup place.
But now, Everton are right in the race for a Champions League spot, while Fulham are somehow outside the relegation zone despite clearly looking as outdated as Scott Parker’s fashion sense.
Sheffield United and West Ham? Well, that’s a touch different. The Blades are the biggest surprise in the league last year, and in a weird way, they’ve achieved exactly that again as they’re dead last with just a single point to show for their efforts.
West Ham have scored five more times than Arsenal. I know what you’re thinking – a very 2020 slate of results. Speaking of landing a result – here’s your surefire Sunday double. It’s good to be back.
12pm: Fulham v Everton: Everton to Win
There’s been a lot said about Everton and most of it has been from myself. But their progression from a mishmash of almost-top-end talent to consistent result-finder, back into midtable fodder has been quite a rollercoaster.
Then again, that current midtable consists of both Man City and Arsenal – and they’re only five points off top.
12pm Sunday: Fulham v Everton

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin absolutely flying it in front of goal and the return of Richarlison, Everton should be back firing, particularly as they possess the depth to cope with the international break fallout.
Fulham would take a point here, too. So while Everton will win this game, backing them to land any more than a single knockout blow is unwise – especially as games after international breaks tend to take some time to get up to full pace.

2pm: Sheff Utd v West Ham – Sheff Utd to Win and BTTS
You’re not stopping West Ham from scoring because they’ve now got multiple sources firing, including the frustrating Seb Haller, who to this point, had not lived up to this pricetag.
However, it appears that the Irons have managed to compile enough firepower to overwrite the clearly backwards instructions of Moyseh and the results have been favourable off the back of it. But West Ham don’t take well to being attacked at all.
Sunday 2pm: Sheffield United v West Ham
Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Their structure is poor and they get too narrow. With Sheffield United employing wing backs, I suspect they’ll have plenty of joy with crosses into the box, so I’d back them to take the three points in a helter skelter affair that they really can’t afford not to win.
