Football tips: Our sweet 17/1 acca for Sunday’s European match-ups

Four top tips. Three different leagues. What’s not to like, eh?

For Sunday’s European football matches we’re taking a look at some of the top-of-the-table clashes happening in Italy, Spain and France. Sorry Germany, you didn’t make the cut this Sunday! Roma can extend their unbeaten run to 10 against an unfancied Parma, while third takes on first when Napoli welcome AC Milan in the later kick off.

In La Liga leaders Real Sociedad are away to Cadiz, who are yet to win a home league match this season and finally, in France, third-placed Lille take on Lorient. Let’s have a look for some value in the betting markets.

14:00 Roma v Parma: Roma to Win and Both Teams To Score

Roma have been impressive this season, winning four, drawing two and losing just one of their seven Serie A matches so far. Parma have won one, drawn three and lost three. To make matters worse for Parma, they haven’t beaten Roma away from home since 1997. Amazingly, 17 of Parma’s matchday squad have been born since then.

Roma are huge favourites to win here but their leaky defence, which has conceded 11 over their seven matches, means Parma can cause problems here. They’ve scored here in three out of their last four visits and in all 13 of their most recent away matches in the league also. Roma’s current form should see them take the three points here though, but expect goals at both ends.

15:15 Cadiz v Real Sociedad: Real Sociedad to Win

Cadiz find themselves sixth in La Liga following promotion last season, but their home form is worrying. All of their four wins (with one over champions Real Madrid) have been on the road. They’ve not won a home league match in the top-flight since their final home match of the 2005/06 season. Sociedad have now won six of their nine this season though, drawing two and losing one.

There is decent odds on the away side here considering their form and Cadiz bad home record, especially since they’ve won four out of their last five on their travels in all competitions. Sociedad have the momentum and form to take the three points here to extend Cadiz’ wait for their first home success of the season.

19:45 Napoli v AC Milan: Both Teams To Score in the Second Half

Napoli come into this match as favourites as they’ve won five and lost two of their seven Serie A matches so far. Milan are in better form though, they’ve won five and drawn two with their mainman, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been in mighty form. The great man has eight goals in five league matches, one in one in the cup and one in two in the Europa League – all this after he missed a few matches with the dreaded virus. The big lad doesn’t have a great record against Napoli though, over the seven times he’s played them he’s only scored two. Zlatan to Score Anytime isn’t quite so tempting now, is it?

Both teams are in great scoring form, with 15 and 16 goals respectively and both have conceded seven. Each side will surely score and concede here with those stats, but the odds on Both Teams To Score aren’t offering much value.

However, Napoli have scored 60% of their goals in the second half of matches, while for Milan the percentage stands at 62.4. In four out of their last four meetings at the Stadio San Paolo BTTS in the second half has landed in all of them. We’re backing that to continue here after considering those stats.

20:00 Lille v Lorient: Lille to Win

Lille can close the gap with PSG to just two points at the top of the league with a win here. Their home league form would suggest they’ll take the three points as well, having won three and drawn two of their five most recent matches at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Lorient have lost three, drawn one and won one on their league travels over their last five matches and have only won once at the Pierre-Mauroy over their last eight fixtures there. Lille to Win to Nil was looking tempting, but Lorient’s goal-scoring record is too good. That’s why we’re going with the safer option here of Lille to win.

European Football tips summary:

14:00 Roma v Parma: Roma to Win and Both Teams To Score
15:15 Cadiz v Real Sociedad: Real Sociedad to Win
19:45 Napoli v AC Milan: Both Teams To Score in the Second Half
20:00 Lille v Lorient: Lille to Win
