Some of Europe’s best international teams are in action on Wednesday night. We’ve taken a look at four of the best fixtures, dug deep into the statistics and found a five-fold Acca that’s bursting with value.
Turkey have now gone five matches without a win. 2020 hasn’t been kind to them at all which is surprising as they’d played 12 matches in 2019, winning nine, drawing two and losing just one. Croatia aren’t in the best of shape either. They’ve won just two of their last five, losing three. Prior to that they’d been on a run of six undefeated.
Turkey have a decent home scoring record though, they’ve netted at least one in seven out of their nine most recent matches. Croatia have scored in 13 out of their 14 most recent away matches. They’re favourites here and certainly have the better squad but their record on the road just isn’t good enough to pick them for the win here. With both in good goal-scoring form we’re going with Both Teams to Score.
A Scandinavian derby, this will be the 108th meeting between the sides, Denmark come into it as slight favourites and are in the better form of both sides, losing just one of their last 20 matches. On home soil they’ve been defeated in just one of their last 16. Sweden aren’t in good shape at all, they’ve lost four out of their last five matches but had won five out of their six prior to that.
Of the 49 times they’ve faced each other in Denmark the hosts have won 23, drawn eight times with Sweden winning 18, averaging 3.6 goals per game. Denmark’s home scoring record isn’t brilliant but they’ve scored in five out of seven recent home matches. Sweden have scored in five out of six recent away matches and with this being a derby we fancy the odds here on BTTS again.
It’s been over four years since Belgium lost a home match, a 0-2 defeat to Spain after the 2016 European Championships. Since then they’ve had 22 on home turf, winning 17 and drawing five. Six out of their last seven have seen Over 2.5 goals landing and they’ve scored a total of 30 over those seven matches.
Switzerland aren’t on a good run. They’ve won just one of their last seven away matches and that was a 1-6 victory over Gibraltar. We’re going with Belgium to Win and Overs here, they’re in great form and in even better goal-scoring form.
These sides have only faced each other eight times but the Czechs have more wins under their belts than the Germans of late. Joachim Low’s side have only won two of their last six home matches while the Czech Republic have won four out of their last six away.
The Czechs will find it tough here though as Germany are a bit of a step up from the usual sides they face. But the Germans have only kept one clean sheet in their last seven at home while the Czechs have scored in five out of seven on the road. We’re going with Germany to Win and BTTS.
Yet another derby for us here. Poland have now gone eight matches undefeated at home and face a Ukranian side who have only won one of their last four on the road. However, after beating Spain at home a month ago they’ll be confident going into this match against their western neighbours.
Poland have a good clean sheets record at home however when they face the better sides they tend to concede and Ukraine don’t go many games without scoring. As mentioned this is another derby and Poland are so far yet to beat Ukraine at home and both teams will be eager to get the bragging rights. With both in good scoring form we’re backing BTTS at decent odds.
