Both Arsenal and Molde come into their Europa League Group B clash with maximum points from their matches played so far. Arsenal are massive favourites against the Norwegians but it won’t be plain sailing for the Gunners as Molde are on a run of six consecutive victories.
We’ve sifted through the stats and found the three best bets for this Europa League match. Read on to find out what we’re backing.
Arsenal’s form isn’t all that bad – they raised a few eyebrows with their 1-0 win over Manchester United over the weekend and in the Europa League they have already beaten Rapid Vienna away and Dundalk at the Emirates last week. They kept a clean sheet against the Irish side and at Old Trafford but over their eight matches prior to those they only kept two shutouts. Their home form has seen them concede in eight of their last 10.
Molde’s away form has seen them score at least one goal in 13 of their 15 previous matches on the road. They’ve scored three already in Group B and over their six most recent Europa League matches played away from home they’ve scored at least once in five of them. With the Norwegians in good goal-scoring form and Arsenal fragile at the back, we can see them getting one here. Arsenal have a great scoring record at home, having scored in 18 out of 19 previous home matches in all competitions. Both Teams to Score looks nailed on.

With Eddie Nketiah set to reclaim his place up front for Arsenal, like in their previous two Europa League matches, he’s priced at around Evens to get on the scoresheet. He only has one goal so far in the Premier League but in cup games he tends to perform better, largely thanks to him having more time on the pitch than in top-flight matches. So far he has one from two matches in the League Cup, one from two in the Europa League and has 11 in seven for the England U21s.
With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette making way for Nketiah and Reiss Nelson, all of Arsenal’s attacks will be aimed at them and with Nketiah in mighty goal-scoring form this season in cups and for country, we think Evens is well worth a punt here.
We’ve made a case for Molde to score at least one above and Arsenal are in great goal-scoring form on home turf. While Molde are most certainly a bit better than what the market is currently pricing them at, the gulf between the Norwegian Eliteserien and the Premier League will certainly become evident here as time goes by. Arsenal can continue their fine home form here and we think the most likely final score will be 3-1.
