Football tips: Goals on the menu in our 19/1 Wednesday Champions League treble

A tidy trio of tips for Wednesday's action across the continent.

The English teams in action on Wednesday night appear elsewhere on these pages, so in this tipping piece we’re looking for value in three of the best other matches on the night. We’ll be taking a look at Group G where an unbeaten Barcelona tak on Dynamo Kiev and Ferencvaros host Juventus and in Group H where RB Leipzig face PSG.

8pm: Barcelona vs Dynamo Kiev – Barcelona to Win & BTTS

Barcelona are obviously massive favourites coming into this match as the market firmly believes Kiev don’t have a snowball’s proverbial here. The Catalans surprised a few last week with their impressive 0-2 win over Juventus, especially after losing 1-3 at home to Real Madrid the weekend before. The Old Lady didn’t really show up for the match and Barca could have won by a few more if they’d been better in front of goal.

We have to make a case for Kiev to get a goal here thanks to both their record in front of the sticks of late and Barcelona’s lack of home clean sheets. In six out of their last eight matches at the Nou Camp Barcelona have conceded at least one. And in four out of the last five Champions League home matches (not counting that loss to Bayern Munich in Portugal) they’ve also conceded at least one.

Kiev have scored in nine out of 10 previous away matches in all competitions and while Barcelona are obviously the better team and should take all three points here but the odds for BTTS and Barcelona to Win are screaming value at us here.

8pm: Ferencvaros vs Juventus – BTTS

The Hungarian champions come into this match with a draw and a loss under their belts so far in Group G. They’ve scored three goals over their two matches but have conceded a worrying seven. Juventus have so far beaten Dynamo Kiev and, of course, lost 0-2 to Barcelona last week. Ferencvaros could only manage a 1-1 draw away from home over the weekend while Juventus put four past Spezia.

Obviously the Old Lady are massive favourites here and Cristiano Ronaldo is back in the squad after missing their last two matches in the competition. He came on as a second-half substitute against Spezia and scored within four minutes. BTTS here looks like decent value. Ferencvaros have scored in six out of eight previous Champions League matches at home and Juventus share the same stat away. Juve are famous for their stingy defence but have conceded a goal in six out of eight of their most recent away European matches. Very decent odds indeed with those stats.

8pm: RB Leipzig vs PSG – Moise Kean to Score Anytime

The home side are now favourites here with both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe ruled out through injury. Worryingly for Leipzig though they’ve lost both of their last two matches, conceding six goals and scoring none. However, they’ve lost just two of their last 15 on home soil. They drew seven of those matches so they’re not winning enough for us to confidently back them but as their record shows they’ve very difficult to beat at the RB Arena.

PSG have won eight out of their last nine matches and in the Champions League have won six out of their last eight on the road, losing one and drawing one. Goals are forecast for this match according to the market prices and we like the look of Moise Kean to Score here. He’s a new man since his move from Everton to Paris and we’re seeing the form he showed at Juventus. He’s on a great run coming into this match, scoring four over his three most recent matches and with all of PSG’s attacks coming through him we like the price of him to Score Anytime.
