For Sunday’s European footballing action we’re looking for value in Spain, Germany, Italy and France. In Spain, Celta Vigo welcome league leaders Real Sociedad. Meanwhile in Germany, Hertha Berlin take on Wolfsburg and both have only won one of their five league matches so far.
Roma take on Fiorentina in Italy, with both teams in mighty goal-scoring form. Finally, Lille face Lyon in Ligue 1, where the home side are unbeaten so far this season and their opponents Lyon have lost just one. More importantly though, we’ve found value in our picks and have a very healthy-looking four-fold accumulator to liven up you Sunday football.
Celta haven’t had a good season so far, they’ve won just one of their seven La Liga matches so far, drawing three and losing three. They’ve only scored four goals so far this season and have conceded 10. Sociedad have taken everyone by surprise this season though, winning four, drawing two and losing one of their league matches so far, scoring 14 and conceding just three.
Four out of the last five meetings between the pair here in all competitions have ended with both teams scoring and three have seen Over 3.5 Goals. Celta have won one, two have ended level and Sociedad have won two. Sociedad have won four out of their last five La Liga fixtures and are unbeaten in their last five on the road. With form on their side and those good stats, we’re getting good value here backing the away side.
Hertha have been pretty bad so far this term, winning just one of their five Bundesliga matches and losing all four of the others. Wolfsburg aren’t exactly in brilliant form either. They are undefeated, but they’ve only won one of their five matches, drawing all four of the others. These haven’t been mighty affairs over the years, only one of the last five meetings have seen Over 2.5 Goals landing and only one saw Both Teams To Score occurring.
Hertha are scoring goals at least, with nine for and 12 against this season. Wolfsburg are in trouble though and have only scored four goals, conceding three, over their five Bundesliga matches. It’s hard to see many goals here with both teams in bad form.
Roma and Fiorentina are in similar form coming into this match. Roma have won two, drawn two and lost one, scoring 11 and conceding 10 over their five Serie A matches. Fiorentina have won two, drawn one and lost two of their five, scoring 10 and conceding 11. Roma have won three out of five previous meetings between the pair at the Stadio Olimpico, one ending level and Fiorentina winning one.
Both teams are obviously in great goal-scoring form, all five recent home Roma league matches have ended with Over 2.5 Goals, and Overs has come up in four out of five previous away matches for Fiorentina in the league. Roma’s home form is far better than Fiorentina’s, they’re unbeaten in their last six home Serie A matches, while Fiorentina have only won one of their last five league matches on the road. We’re going with Roma to Win and Over 2.5 Goals here.
Lille have won five, drawn three and lost none this season, scoring 14 and conceding just three. Lyon have won three, drawn four and lost one, scoring 14 and conceding eight. Both are in great goal-scoring form, but are strong defensively.
Lille should come out on top here though, they’ve won five out of six of their most recent home league matches. Lyon, for their part, have won just one of their last five league matches on the road. With those stats the value is with Lille here.
