We took a £650k #WhatOddsPaddy pounding on Super Sunday meltdowns

While Sunday afternoon might have given the neutrals plenty to laugh about, Paddy was struggling to keep it together as big winner after big winner clicked

What a Sunday. Not only did Man United and Liverpool both take spankings that will live in lore for decades to come, but some perceptive punters picked out quite a few absolutely corking bets to leave Paddy counting the pennies after taking on some huge losses from the two freakish results.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saw the words “crisis club” loom into sight once again as his Man United side let a penalty opener  – do United score any other type of goal now? – slip in a matter of minutes to a 2-1 deficit against Spurs at Old Trafford, losing Anthony Martial along the way to some truly BAFTA-worthy and that quickly turned into a 4-1 half-time scoreline from which there was no prospect of recovery.

Tottenham defied their manager’s burning desire to rub United’s face in it by adding just two further goals in the second-half, but that wasn’t enough to spare Paddy a whole world of hurt.

Both Teams to be Awarded a Penalty, at 20/1, came in with Paul Pogba’s unnecessary foul on Ben Davies in the 79th minute. Over 1,250 punters had a taste of that #WhatOddsPaddy line and were gratefully paid out to the tune of £105,270.

No doubt a few of them will also have been on the 28/1 available for Both Teams to Score a Penalty too, so when Harry Kane duly obliged moments later, a frankly devastating £214,893 was turned over to 2,056 winning customers as well.

Yeah, there’s definitely too many penalties this season, we all agree…

There were also too many Spurs corners and Man United cards for Paddy as bets on those outcomes plus a Tottenham win were put together in a 40/1 line that saw another £113,146 stumped up for winning bets.

In total, over £450,000 wa paid out by Paddy just for the #WhatOddsPaddy punts you lot had requested for this game.

And then Aston Villa v Liverpool kicked-off.

And a big pat on the back to the 120 shrewdies who knew that Villa to Win & Mo Salah to score in the First Half, at 100/1, was to be leapt on as we paid out £15,488 among them, as well as over £80k to 408 bettors who took Ollie Watkins & Mo Salah to Have Over 0.5 Shots on Target in Each Half at 50/1.

While another bunch had a taste of another triple-figure bet, with Ollie Watkins Over 0.5 Shots On Target in Each Half & Aston Villa Over 2.5 Shots On Target in Each Half doing the trick for another 100/1 payday as the Villans blitzed the champions in a 7-2 stunner at Villa Park.

In the end, we were glad to only ship £200k on this one, though Paddy might have to consider a few cutbacks now as the day’s losses added up to over £650,000 on these string of bets.

Here’s hoping United sign a centre-half – it should save Paddy a few quid…
