Man Utd v Crystal Palace
I don’t like backing Man United at the price they are here. I actually think Palace are worth a stab on the double chance or the +1 handicap.
Towards the end of last season United started to really shorten up in the betting but they were just winning games they were expected to win.
They went to Aston Villa and got a dubious penalty and won there, but towards the end of the season when they were really in the race for the top four and needed wins, Southampton and West Ham came to Old Trafford and got draws.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can perhaps consider himself fortunate that Bruno Fernandes has come in and had the impact that he’s had and it’s sort of led to a second honeymoon for Solskjaer.
Double Chance: Crystal Palace/Draw
I was fully expecting Southampton to beat Palace last weekend but they were value for their win and have a real threat on both wings.
They did tail away towards the end of the season but in the last couple of years they have actually had better results away from home than at Selhurst Park.
They’ve got a win and a draw on their last two visits to Old Trafford as well so I’d be wary about backing Man United and think Palace are good value for a win or a draw.
Bruno Fernandes to Score First
In terms of a goal scorer I’d still look at United. Bruno Fernandes goes off at big prices, especially when you consider he gets on crosses and takes penalties as well.
Even though I think Palace can get a result I think the safest bet for a goalscorer is Bruno Fernandes to Score First.
