Paddy’s football trader Jason Murphy dialled in to another Zoom call with the lads at PPTV to offer up some more top tips for the upcoming Premier League action.
This time it’s Sheffield United vs Wolves on Monday night at 18:00 in Jason’s steely gaze. So what’s he selected this time?
I’d expect this one to be tight. If you look at the games post lockdown, Wolves went here at around even money and Sheffield United actually won with an injury-time winner.
I think the value is in Sheffield United to win but these are two teams that I rate very highly.
They both had fantastic seasons last time. If Sheffield United can repeat what they did last season it will be a fantastic achievement. If you go back to 2016, they’re finishing 11th in League One and four years later they’re ninth in the Primer League.
That only happens on Championship manager and it only happens if you’re cheating, probably! If they finish top 10 again it will be a fantastic achievement.
Wolves, without European commitments, are probably a dark horse to maybe just nick a top-four finish, in what would be a very tight race for that final place. However, for this game, based purely on what we saw recently in the lockdown fixture, and at the prices, I’d side with Sheffield United to Win.
These are two very well set-up teams defensively who play similar-kind of formations with three at the back and wing backs doing a lot of work up and down the wings, so I don’t see many chances in open play and the set pieces may be where the value lies.
The man that got the 93rd minute winner in the last game is worth a look. That’s John Egan to Score First. Under 2.5 goals is likely click here but it feels like a central defender, at the bigger prices, to score is where the value is.
