Aberdeen vs Rangers: Aberdeen Double Chance
Of course Rangers are massive favourites here, it’s a rare thing to see them not priced as favourites in the league, unless it’s against Celtic of course. Looking at their previous trips to Aberdeen though and it would appear that there’s value with the home side.
Over their last five visits up the A90 to Aberdeen the Gers have won just once, three have ended all square, Aberdeen have won one. Over their last 10, Rangers have won four, Aberdeen have won two, four ending in a draw. Looking at league matches only, Rangers have won two and three have ended in draws over the last five at Pittodrie.
Rangers have looked decent in their preseason winning all four of their matches, Aberdeen played two friendlies and a ‘bounce’ match recording a win, a draw and a loss. That Aberdeen Double Chance price though, it’s screaming value to us. Rangers just don’t do well at Pittodrie over the past few seasons and we can see the hosts making it a very tough opening weekend here.

Aberdeen vs Rangers: Both Teams to Score
BTTS has landed in four out of five previous meetings here and in five out of five previous league meetings at Pittodrie. Both teams scored plenty over their preseason matches too so they should both get off the mark here.
We’re getting a decent price here as well considering that BTTS landed in 60% of Aberdeen’s home league matches last season and in 53% of Ranger’s away matches. We should be getting a price closer to 4/5 than what’s currently on offer so again we’re going with the value option.

Looking at last year’s league stats there were 24 first half goals over Aberdeen’s 15 home matches last season, for Rangers on the road there were 20 FH goals over their 15 away matches. In the second half of matches at Pittodrie last season there were 18 goals scored over 15 matches, while for Rangers in their second halves of matches on the road there were 23 goals scored over their 15 matches.
