Football tips: Our 12/1 accumulator for Sunday’s European football action

It's not just about the Premier League on Sunday, you know.

Things are really hotting up in Italy’s Serie A, as Juventus keep stumbling and leaving the door open to Atalanta, Inter and Lazio. We’ll also be looking at the Portuguese Liga Primeira where a relegation-threatened Setubal must win to survive on the final day of the season.

Sunday 18:30 – Roma vs Fiorentina: Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals

Roma are ending the season on a high, enjoying an unbeaten run of five now, winning four and drawing one. Fiorentina are also unbeaten over their five most recent fixtures but they’ve drawn three and won two.

These tend to be pretty even affairs, over the last five meetings at the Stadio Olimpico there’s been one draw and two wins each for both teams.

Roma have the added pressure here of trying to seal their Europa League place for next season while the away side have little to play for other than to finish the season strongly.

Four of those five recent meetings have ended with Over 2.5 Goals, three of them with Over 3.5 goals. With both being in good form and the goals flowing we’re backing BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals here.

Sunday 18:30 – Verona vs Lazio: Both Teams to Score

Lazio’s form hasn’t been good of late, they’ve only won one of their last five Serie A matches and Verona are proving very tough to beat of late, having drawn four of their five most recent matches.

The home side’s form at Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi is decent to boot with two wins, two draws and one loss. Lazio’s five most recent away matches has seen them win just one, draw one and lose three. Both teams are in good goal scoring form though with Verona averaging 1.47 goals at home and Lazio scoring 1.24 on their travels. We’re looking at Both Teams to Score here at a decent price considering those stats.

Sunday 19:30 – Setubal vs Belenenses: Under 2.5 Goals

Setubal’s odds have been dropping here with the market expecting the home side to escape possible relegation with a win. Below them Portimonense are playing already-relegated Aves at the same time as this match and should they beat Aves then Setubal need the win. It’s going to be a long 90 minutes for both teams.

Setubal’s form is muck, there’s no sugar-coating it really. They’ve not won a match since the restart, indeed, since 2020 started they’ve had 19 matches and have won just two.

Belenenses are pretty bad too, they’ve only won two of their last 10 matches in the league. Setubal have, however, beaten Belenenses in two out of their three previous meetings here.

Setubal have kept Belenenses scoreless in those three previous visits and with both teams averaging just 0.81 and 0.88 goals respectively plus the added pressure of needing to at least not lose this one has ‘cagey’ written all over it. We’re going with Under 2.5 Goals here.

Sunday 20:45 – Juventus vs Sampdoria: Juventus to Win & BTTS

Juventus don’t seem to want to win the Scudetto this season, or maybe they’re just toying with their prey? They’ve won just one of the five most recent Serie A matches. They did exactly the same thing last season, the only difference is that they’d already won the Serie A title before downing tools with the last remaining fixtures last season.

They’re still six points ahead though so can afford to lose at least one more match. Should Atalanta catch them on points they’ll win the title thanks to a far superior goal difference. While their overall form isn’t good their home form is, of their 12 home matches this year they’ve won 10 and drawn two, conceding just six goals over those matches.

Sampdoria come into this match with some decent form too, winning three and losing two of their five most recent fixtures, away from home they have the same record. Looking at their record in Torino though makes for some dire reading, they’ve beaten Juventus twice over their last 15 meetings.

While Juve don’t concede many at home Sampdoria are in good goal scoring form, scoring 10 over their five most recent matches and nine over their five most recent on the road. Juve should get back to winning ways here but Sampdoria are more than good enough to get on the scoresheet so we’re backing Juventus to Win & BTTS at some very appealing odds.
