The longest season ever finally draws to a close on Sunday with the Premier League’s final round of games set to kick off at 16:00. Liverpool wrapped up the title weeks ago while Chelsea, Manchester United and Leicester are vying out for the final top four spot.
Down at the bottom, two from Bournemouth, Watford and Aston Villa will be relegated so there’s still a few things up for grabs.
But one of the mostly hotly-contended contests remaining is the race for the Premier League Golden Boot 2019/20. Foxes frontman Jamie Vardy sits at the top of the charts with a superb 23 goals so far.
With just 90 minutes left to play he’s huge odds-on to pick up the big shiny shoe and has a two-goal advantage over second-placed Danny Ings. The Southampton forward has been a revelation this term and his firepower has almost single-handedly kept the Saints up this term.
Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is third on 20, three behind Vardy, and with just one game left and he’ll have to pull multiple rabbits out of the hat to overtake the ex-England striker.
Mohamed Salah has made it pretty clear he wanted to win the Golden Boot to go with his Premier League crown this year but he needs four to just draw level with Vardy and his chances are reflected in those long odds.
Manchester City slicker Raheem Sterling joins Salah on 19 for the season and will need five to get a clear lead. It’s a huge ask, even for a player of Sterling’s class.
