For Sunday’s European matches we’re looking at the race for European places in Italy’s Serie A, Real Madrid’s La Liga celebrations and the Turkish title race which is still up for grabs.
Let’s look for some value in the betting markets.
Napoli’s form of late had taken a bit of a wobble, they’ve drawn two and lost one of their last five – and Udinese have the same record. At home Napoli are unbeaten since the restart, winning two and drawing two, Udinese have won two and lost one of their away matches, impressively keeping two Clean Sheets over those three matches.
The market is very much going with Napoli here, they’ve lost only once to Udinese at home since 2011 but their recent form is putting us off backing them. There’s some decent value here in the BTTS market, this bet would have landed in six out of nine recent matches at the Stadio San Paolo and, with both in great goal scoring form, we’re looking to back it again here.
After coming so close over recent years Basaksehir can win their first-ever Turkish Super Lig title here. Trabzonspor aren’t far behind but a win here would put them on 69 points. The most Trabzonspor can win this season is 68.
The home side should win here but Kayserispor have been good of late as they rally to try and avoid relegation. Over their last five matches they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring 10. Basaksehir have also won three, drawn one and lost one.
Kayserispor are second from bottom but a draw would drag them out of the relegation zone, they’ll be going all out for a good result here. The away side are certainly good enough to get a goal here so we’re backing Both Teams to Score here again.
Trabzonspor obviously need the win here, they’re going to need Basaksehir to slip up twice for them to land the title, it’s unlikely but anything’s possible in football.
Trabzonspor’s form of late isn’t good though, they’ve won just one of their last five, drawing three and losing one. Konyaspor are just a point above the relegation zone and if results don’t go their way could find themselves in the mix on the final day next Sunday.
Over 2.5 goals has landed in four out of five recent Trabzonspor matches and in four out of five for Konyaspor as well. We’re backing that trend to continue here.
Real Madrid come in to this game fresh from celebrating being crowned La Liga Champions for a record 34th time. In contrast, Leganes are staring relegation in the face and nothing less than a win will save their skins here.
Can they do it? Normally you’d expect Real’s odds to be far lower but the market seems to think Los Blancos will have a few sore heads among the ranks when this kicks off.
Leganes beat them here in the Copa Del Rey in 2019 and drew 1-1 with them last season here in La Liga. With Real no doubt nursing some mammoth hangovers and the home side so desperate for the points we’re going against the crowd here and backing Leganes Double Chance here.
With just five games to go it doesn’t look like Roma will catch their city rivals Lazio in fourth above them. Then again, they do appear to be in free fall since the restart. Inter find themselves, somehow, back in second and six points behind Juventus. After falling out of the title race for so long they’re back in it after a string of good recent results, although it’s really down to Juventus having a wobble and Lazio imploding.
Anyway, these meetings tend to be ding-dong affairs, Over 2.5 goals has occurred in four out of five recent matches at the Stadio Olimpico and BTTS has landed in all five. Over 3.5 goals has landed in three. Overs has landed in four out of five recent Roma matches and in five out of five for Inter. With both teams in great goal scoring form we’re backing BTTS & Overs here.
All five of these picks in an Acca will give you odds of around 12/1 with Paddy Power.
