Aston Villa To Win & Under 2.5 goals
The last three times that Crystal Palace have visited Villa Park, it’s been a game which has failed to deliver.
On all three occasions, no more than one goal has been scored and the one positive that Aston Villa can look at ahead of this Sunday fixture is that they’ve held Roy Hodgson’s side scoreless for the last two seasons at this venue.
Dean Smith’s men will need all the help they can get to get motivated however ahead of their penultimate home game of the campaign because they go into the match on a woeful winless streak of 11 games.
Their 2-1 victory over Watford back in January is their last Premier League success but in saying that, they did manage to push Man City, Chelsea and Spurs all the way when they all visited the midlands stadium.
On those displays, the home side would fancy their chances here.
As for Palace, they will know that it’s six years since an Eagles side last won at Villa Park, what is even more worrying is the fact that it’s 58 years since a Palace side scored more than one goal at the Birmingham ground.

Roy Hodgson’s men head into this contest having lost their last four games on the trot and in three of those matches, they didn’t manage to score either.
There’s no doubting that this is a must-win game for Aston Villa and three points here would give them a fighting chance of survival with winnable games against Everton and West Ham to come.
So, a low scoring game is most definitely on the cards but throw in a home win along with that and that might offer the best value in this Villa Park fixture.
Just once in the last seven games between these sides have both teams got on the scoresheet, home and away, so it’s very hard to see many players finding the back of the net.
Jack Grealish To Score
Nominating a member of the Villa squad getting on the mark isn’t any easier and judging by their six games since the resumption, it’s not even clear who might start up front.
However, the one certainty is that Jack Grealish will captain the side and in a game like this, leaders are needed more than ever.
Having recently come up against Wolves, Liverpool and Man Utd in the last 15 days, the 24-year-old will find this assignment somewhat easier and having found the net against the likes of Brighton, Norwich, Southampton and Burnley already this season, he’s proved his worth in games like this.
If Villa are to win, one must think that Grealish will be at the forefront of everything that they offer.
