For anyone who watched Brighton v Liverpool during the week, expect more of the same on Saturday night! A spirited performance from Brighton with some nice football played, but Liverpool were just too good.
Pep is the king of the high press and Brighton will be dispossessed many times deep in their own half once again, and another comfortable win is on the cards for Man City.
City’s match v Southampton was a blip. They dominated the game but just could not get the breaks in the box – it was simply one of those days for the deposed Premier League champions.

- Sheffield United to hamper Chelsea’s top 4 challenge – and boost their own
- Liverpool to continue 100-point chase with Burnley to swept aside at Anfield
Man City to win 4-0 or 5-0
With 3-0, 4-0 and two 5-0 wins since the restart, no team scores goals like Man City. Take your pick at the big Man City win, 4-0 and 5-0 wins come in at a nice price.
Tariq Lamptey to be yellow carded
I have really enjoyed watching Tariq Lamptey at right-back for Brighton in the last few matches. He’s full of energy, has great anticipation, his reading of the game is impressive and the ex-Chelsea man has good quality going forward.
Lamptey is a proper modern full-back and at 19 looks a prospect. However, these same attributes have led him to receive 2 yellows in his last 3 matches, he will get caught out of position and dive in for an interception.
Up against some of the worlds best he is in for a difficult evening, with a combination of Sterling, Jesus, Foden and 1 or 2 Silva’s, another yellow looks likely.
4+ Goals; 5+ Cards & 9+ Corners in the game
With goals and cards in the offing, I’ve gone for a big priced #WhatOddsPaddy selection for my last pick: 4+ Goals; 5+ Cards & 9+ Corners.
Always a fun one for the neutral, as you can cheer for goals at either end, late tackles and keepers taking the safe option, tipping shots over the bar!
Man City alone have had 8 and 13 corners in their last two matches and Brighton’s last two matches have involved 4 and 5 cards, so here’s hoping for an action-packed Saturday night at the Amex.
