Make your mind up! Paul Pogba’s latest Man Utd comments prompt another transfer odds shift

Will he stay or will he go?

Paul Pogba

Make you mind up Paul! Well, actually, maybe he has? Paul Pogba’s latest comments about playing with Manchester United’s ‘beautiful’ front line has given hope to fans that he’s staying put.

Just a few months ago he looked nailed on to be leaving the Theatre of Dreams and was nowhere to be seen with rumours circling that he had played his last game for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

However, The Red Devils’ upturn in fortunes recently has the World Cup-winning midfielder singing a very different tune and it now looks like he may be staying in Manchester, causing another fluctuation in the odds concerning his future.

Paul Pogba

We now have him at 4/7 – or a 63% chance – that he decides to stay at Old Trafford this summer while he’s now out to 5/4 to leave.

As a result, here at Paddy Power, we’ve made him 2/1 to win the club’s Player of the Year award next season and 16/1 to be the Premier League’s POTY winner. In fact, Pogba’s sudden change in allegiance means he’s now 4/1 to be made United’s captain within the next five years, in from 12/1 before today’s quotes.

Though, should he choose to change his mind again and leave, Real Madrid are the 7/4 favourites to sign him, followed by Juventus (4/1), PSG (5/1) and Barcelona (12/1).

We’re not sure if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given Pogba a course of hypnotherapy, but what he’s been saying today has been very different to his thoughts over the last few months.

As a result, we’ve cut our odds of him staying put this summer, and believe he could be on for captaincy if he holds tight, or at very least, a POTY gong.

4/7 Pogba to stay at Man United this summer
5/4 Pogba to leave Man United this summer
2/1 To win Man United’s POTY next season
4/1 To be named Man United’s captain in the next five years
16/1 To win Premier League POTY next season

7/4 Real Madrid
4/1 Juventus
5/1 PSG
12/1 Barcelona
