You’d be forgiven for not having heard of Saarbrucken, so let’s fill you in. They’re already won their Sudwest Regionalliga league in Germany for this season. Beneath the Bundesliga 3, the Regionalliga league is split into five smaller leagues where 91 teams compete. The winners of each league face off against each other for promotion to the Bundesliga 3.

Saarbrucken topped their league a few weeks prior to the break in play, having won 18 of their 23 matches, drawing one and losing just four, three of those losses were on the road, only one was at home. They’ve hit the headlines in Germany thanks to that cup run though, beating Bundesliga teams Koln and Fortuna Dusseldorf and two Bundesliga II teams; Karlsruher and Regensburg along the way. They won’t fear Bayer coming to town.

Both Teams to Score in the First Half

The odds here are too good to refuse, Saabruken have scored a first-half goal in 5/5 previous home games and in 8/10 at home. Leverkusen love an early goal too, they’ve scored a FH goal in 4/5 and 8/10 previous away games in all competitions. Of course, Bayer are a different class compared to who Saabrucken would normally face but the home side have nothing to fear and are only 90 minutes away from a cup final, they’ll be looking to start strongly.

Bayer Over 2.5 Goals

Bayer are just 1/8 to win here and there’s little doubt that they’ll be progressing to the final. Saarbrucken will give them a test and should get on the scoresheet but Bayer are on an impressive run of 6/7 wins on their travels in the league and the Champions League and in those six wins they’ve scored three goals, or more, in five of them. We think they’ll continue that fine goal scoring run against a side that haven’t actually played a competitive game since early March.

Bayer -1 Handicap

Shorts odds on this at around 2/5 but with -2 we would need them to win by three clear goals, (0-3, 1-4 etc.) and Leverkusen have only done this three times on the road all season. They’ve beaten the -1 handicap though in four out of their last six on the road and have done it on 10/14 away wins this season so we’re backing the trend here and it’ll give the Same Game Multi a little boost.

All of these picks into a Same Game Multi will give you odds of over 5/1
