This weekend we’re served up two great contests for Super Sunday. Many would feel the Manchester Derby is the standout fixture but the undercard clash of Chelsea v Everton won’t fall too far behind.
Both teams still have a lot to play for and with only 10 games remaining, any points dropped will be crucial for either of these sides. Chelsea are in a battle to secure a Top 4 Finish, while Everton, who are currently 11th, would still feel a Top 6 finish isn’t out of reach.
Both teams have been far from consistent this year. Chelsea haven’t won two Premier League matches in succession since November last year, which shows how inconsistent they have been, while Everton, who you could say are starting to show some form, are still more prone to draws or losses.
While Everton have only lost one of their last 7 Premier League matches – away at Arsenal – they’ve drawn three of the other six against the likes of West Ham and Newcastle.
With both teams inconsistent nature, this looks a cagey affair with neither team committing for the win, so there shouldn’t be many goals, especially if the sides are level on 60 minutes.
Both teams will tighten up and there shouldn’t be too much action in the last third.
Selection: Under 2.5 Goals @11/10.
A draw would be a good result for both, so I’d look to combine the two and back a the Draw & Under 2.5 Goals at a bigger price.
Selection: The Draw & Under 2.5 Goals @ 7/2.
In such a tight, tense affair, the tackles will be flying in and Ross Barkley will be in the middle of it.
He’s only played against his former team once since leaving, and came on as a sub in the 82nd minute. With Chelsea’s three main midfielders all but out of this clash, Barkley should be guaranteed a starting position.
