St Pat’s are back at home this week and Stephen O’Donnell may feel that he’s under a little bit of pressure to pick up a victory. They’ve lost two of their opening three matches which has been disappointing considering all the optimism heading into the season. They face a resurgent Cork City who picked up their opening win after losing their first three matches of the campaign. I fully expect St Pat’s (4/9) to get the win here as, while they were the third lowest scorers in the league last year, I can’t see anything but a home win here against an inexperienced Cork City side.

Waterford Utd v Derry City

Waterford Utd host Derry City tonight and Alan Reynolds will be hoping to get back to winning ways after losing their last two matches. They’ve had a full week to prepare for this game and they face a Derry City side who picked up a very good win at home to Bohs last week. While Derry have been a mixed bag this season, I do expect them to get the victory here though. They were very good under Declan Devine last season and he’s slowly getting things together again after that Bohs win. It’s an away win for Derry City (10/11) here.

Bohs and Shels face off in this week’s ‘Dublin Derby’ and in front of a full crowd, this promises to be a cracker. Bohs have had a mixed start with two wins from four starts and they were disappointing against Derry City last weekend. Shels have had a better start with two wins from three and their only loss came against Dundalk. They’ll be looking to continue their winning ways after a brilliant win against St Pat’s last weekend but I’m predicting a tight game here. For me, a score draw (23/10) is on the cards.
Finn Harps v Dundalk
Friday, 8.00pm
The Champions head to Ballybofey tonight and they take on a Finn Harps side who boast a terrific home record since the mid-season break last year. They’ve only lost one of their last nine home matches in that time but none of them include games against the likes of Dundalk or Shamrock Rovers. Despite that fine home record and Finn Harps’ bright start to the season, it can only be a Dundalk (2/5) win here. They’ll be keen to bounce back after that defeat to bitter rivals Shamrock Rovers and I can see them doing just that. It’s an away win for the Champions.

Sligo Rovers v Shamrock Rovers

It’s a Saturday night showdown for Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds and this promises to be a very difficult task against Shamrock Rovers. As we all know, it’s been a horrific start for Sligo with three losses in their opening three games and they’ve yet to score a goal either. On the other hand, Shamrock Rovers are riding on the crest of a wave with four wins from four games and they’ve scored 12 goals in that period. That win over Dundalk brings them into this tie with massive confidence and not only am I predicting an away win for Shamrock Rovers (1/4) but a comprehensive one too on Saturday night.
Cawley’s Call – St Pat’s, Dundalk & Shamrock Rovers to Win @ 3/2
It’s been a solid start to the season for followers of Cawley’s Call and this week’s treble is the best yet. St Pat’s (4/9) can get things started with a win against Cork City at Richmond Park while Dundalk (2/5) should have no trouble in getting passed Finn Harps in Ballybofey either. And for the treble, it’s Shamrock Rovers (1/4) to make it five wins on the bounce and beat Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds. That treble of St Pat’s, Dundalk & Rovers, at around 3/2, is as solid as you can get.
