In the third round of the cup Liverpool drifted from 8/11 fo 5/2 to beat Everton as Klopp fielded a weakened team. They still won and are now 7/2 to win the whole competition.
I doubt a team has ever been 5/2 in a third-round match and have gone as short as 7/2 to win outright after getting through.
The rampaging Reds will surely give the kids another chance this weekend and it’s pretty clear from the Everton game that they all can play.
Get up for the Cup with Klopp at Paddypower.comCurtis Jones (18) & Harvey Elliott (16) will be in the starting XI. For teenagers, the composure they show on the ball is incredible and they’ll eventually go on to be regulars In the first team in my opinion.
Along with Elliott up front will be the man, the myth, the legend, Divock Origi and January addition Takumi Minamino. This will surely be too much for Shrewsbury, who are 16th in League One with no wins in their last five games.
In midfield, Fabinho will get his first start since his long injury, Klopp will use this game to get him back to match fitness. He should play alongside Lallana and Curtis Jones and Liverpool could have up to 70% possession or more.
With James Milner picking up an injury in the third round and Mo Salah likely to be rested, it looks like Fabinho will be on penalty duties.
During his time with Monaco he scored 19 from 20 of the penalties he took there, so surely Klopp will give him the nod if one crops up in this game.
He is 17/1 to score first and 7/1 to score anytime, which looks a great bet.
Nico Williams has really impressed when he’s been in the first team too. His playing style is very similar to Trent Alexander-Arnold; he bombs up the right-wing putting crosses into the box and takes shots from distance.
In his last two starts against Arsenal, in the League Cup, and Everton he had a shot on target, so the 15/8 for him to have 1+ shots on target looks a bet to me as well.
