Leicester v Aston Villa: An 11/1 same game multi that may hit the net on Wednesday night

The Foxes will be hungry to take a lead into the second leg.

Brendan Rodgers’ high-flying Leicester City welcome Premier League strugglers Aston Villa to the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night for the first leg of their League Cup semi final.

The Foxes will be confident of putting one foot into the final where they’ll face one of the Manchester sides while Villa will be aiming to frustrate them for the return leg at Villa Park at the end of the month. We’ve had a look at the markets for a Same Game Multi bet and came up with this 11/1 fancy.

Looking at the stats this is going against the trend a little. In the Premier League, Leicester have only conceded nine goals at home this season, they have conceded four in their League Cup matches this season, all have been away from home though.

Villa are scoring on their travels in the league. Of their last five away matches, they’ve scored four and have scored nine in their two away League Cup matches this season.

We’ll add they scored a further seven in their two home League Cup matches.

While Rodgers’ side has won much praise for keeping it tight at the back at home, Villa have shown of late they can grab at least a goal on the road and will be eager to get on the score-sheet – so they’ll have something to bring back to Villa Park in a few weeks time.

Selection: Both Teams to Score @ 4/5.

In their last three matches Leicester have been winning at half time, for Villa they’ve only been winning at half time in one of their last five matches. Of late, the Foxes are coming out of the traps strongly and trying to establish a lead quickly so they can pick off teams as the match ticks down.

It doesn’t always work, but Rodgers employed the same tactic when he was at Liverpool and Celtic, so it’s no surprise that he’s got a team of his playing like this again. We’re expecting Villa to sit back and take some pressure here and Leicester should hit the back of the net in the first half to win the first period of play.

Selection: Leicester to Win the First Half @ 8/11.

Leicester have hit on the magic ‘two’ number in five of the last seven home matches. Scoring two is generally enough for them as they’re confident that their defence can hold onto that sort of lead.

Villa though have shown they’re capable of grabbing a goal on their travels and will be eager to get at least one here to stay within touching distance for the second leg at Villa Park – so that force Leicester’s hand.

We fancy a 3-1 result here but rather than get hung up on the scoreline, we’ll back the Foxes to take a two-goal lead to Villa Park in the return leg.

Selection: Leicester to win by exactly 2 goals.

All of these three bets into a Same Game Multi will give you odds of just over 11/1.
