Sheffield Utd v Man United: This 14/1 shot is just one of our traders’ Three best bets

Fun fact: Enda Stevens has the same number of assists this season than Mata, McTominay, Fred and Pereira combined

Overlapping full backs & underperforming midfielders could cause another shock, but would it be a shock if Sheff Utd beat Man Utd?

The answer to that question is no and with Pochettino looking like he will go to Bayern I feel like Man Utd have made another massive mistake. They should send Ole off to manage the U15s & give Pochettino the job! Clearly, this is not going to happen so Ole will still be at the wheel in Sheffield.

At the start of the season, Sheff Utd were odds on to go down but they have proven already this season that they can put it up to any side in the league. The only spent 40 million in the summer and have started the season with a lot of the players that got them promoted into the Premier League. Most of these players were unknown at this level but a mixture of quality, hard work & a good manager has seen them rise to 5th in the table and now a 17/2 shot to go down.

They’ve only lost three times this season and two of them came against the top two in the table. They’ve already drawn away to Tottenham and Chelsea and beat Arsenal comfortably at home. At home, this season they’ve only conceded four in six games and with the nuisance upfront that is David McGoldrick, I think they will cause United trouble.

Chris Wilder didn’t invent the overlapping full-backs but if Guardiola had City apply this tactic this season football twitter would blow up!

I love this tactic and Sheff Utd play such high-intensity football that many teams just can’t live with it.

Man Utd are struggling away from home only winning one game and that came against Norwich who are arguably the worst team in the league. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has turned it around slightly but away from home they are really struggling to break teams down. This is not the fault of their strikers, Martial & Rashford have lots of quality but the players that are supposed to be creating the chances for them are just not good enough.

Scott McTominay is probably the first name on the team sheet for United in midfield, and that says a lot of a club like Man United. McTominay has created two big chances in the league this season, on the other hand, Trent Alexander Arnold has created nine from right back.

Sheffield Utd’s full-back Enda Stevens has the same number of assists this season than Mata, McTominay, Fred and Pereira combined!

Man Utd have only scored more than one goal away from home once this season (v Norwich) and Sheff Utd have only conceded more than one goal once at home, that coming against Leicester. With United’s lack of creativity in midfield and both sides defensively organised this game all points to the under 2.5 goals at 8/11.

I think this game will come down to who wants it more and the Sheff Utd players are 100% behind their manager and his philosophy. On the other hand, United are poor away from home. They haven’t got any leaders in the team that will drag them through games like this so I think Sheffield Utd will have too much intensity for United and will ultimately win the game.

I really hope that Pochettino has taken the Bayern job before this game as this result could trigger United going all out for him.

So have a right go of the unders and have small bets on Sheff Utd to win 1-0 and 2-0.
