Tottenham v Chelsea: An 11/2 Same Game Multi on Tuesday’s League Cup semi-final

This could get very tasty and we're backing Spurs to gain an invaluable first-leg advantage ...

It’s a heavyweight clash at Wembley on Tuesday night, where Spurs will want to make the most of ‘home’ advantage against a Chelsea side who have stumbled in recent weeks.

Mauricio Pochettino desperately wants some silverware in the Tottenham’s barren trophy cabinet – and not solely to justify Manchester United’s and Real Madrid’s interest in him.

Will he ever get a better chance of putting one leg in the League Cup final given both sides recent fortunes?

Here’s a Same Game Multi that says it will be advantage Spurs.

Spurs to win @ 11/10

Tottenham have beaten Chelsea 3-1 in their last two Premier League clashes and seem to have stemmed the bleeding against their London rivals who had bossed these ties until recently.

Their league win here in November was particularly impressive (backing up their first win at Stamford Bridge for 28 years last April) as Spurs took a 3-0 lead, before Olivier Giroud netted an 85th-minute consolation.

With just that shock loss at home to Wolves over Christmas interrupting an impressive unbeaten run since the 4-2 loss to Arsenal in the North London Derby in early December, Spurs are arguably the form side in the top tier and will be buzzing going in to Tuesday’s clash.

Let take care of business first and click on the Spurs win button at 11/10.

Leg 1: Spurs to win at 11/10.

Over 2.5 goals @ 3/4

A feature of these games is that there’s generally plenty of goals and that both teams score.

Ideally, we’d want both teams to score here, as it motivates the other side to score again – and that can play into our hands for the second leg of this bet.

Given the last five games in all competitions have produced 19 goals (3-1,1-3,1-2, 4-2 & 2-0), we’re very hopeful that someone will be picking the ball out of the onion sack at least three times.

Deli Alli anytime goalscorer @ 5/2

We can’t pretend to know too much about universal energy – but if it delivers this leg of the Same Game Multi, then we’re all for it.

The ‘Poch’ believes in energia universal – everything that happens is connected for a reason, good or bad.

He may have a point – as we’ve already seen with Harry Kane’s 26 goals against other London sides. Fellow England international Deli Alli has scored six times in his last five games against the Blues and we’re banking on him hitting the net again.
