Following reports that Antonio Conte is no longer set to take over from Julen Lopetegui, we’ve slashed the odds of Jose Mourinho being Real Madrid’s next permanent manager.
In from 33/1 to 10/1 this morning following a flurry of bets, we have seen more money on Jose than on any other manager in the market.
This comes as ex-Chelsea boss Conte is said to be interested in heading to Old Trafford (12/1), instead of the Santiago Bernabeu.
The current favourite is interim coach Santiago Solari (23/10), followed by Mauricio Pochettino (12/5), Roberto Martinez (3/1) and Arsene Wenger (4/1).
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “We’ve seen plenty of cash this morning on Jose Mourinho heading back to old ground, despite his recent denial. Whether that’s just hopeful Man United fans who are keen to see the back of him – we’re not sure.
“But, he’s been by far our most popular selection in the market, with Pochettino also proving popular following rumours he’s unhappy at Tottenham.”
