Watch: Usain Bolt walks in for a brace on first start in Australia

Star sprinter Usain Bolt is trying his hand at professional football Down Under and things really went his way in a game this morning…

In a sporting story you might have missed, three-time 100m Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt is trying to get to the finish line in his attempt to finally become a professional football.

After a failed trial at Borussia Dortmund earlier this year, the Jamaican bolted Down Under to see if he could win a contract with the Central Coast Mariners in the A League.

The Aussie outfit boast former Leeds United striker Ross McCormack in their squad and Bolt partnered him upfront earlier today in the Mariners’ pre-season game against Macarthur South West United.

Let’s face it, pace was never going to be an issue for the former sprinter and he put it to good use in the second half as he grabbed his first goal by leaving the defender for dead, before neatly finishing it under the keeper.

Eleven minutes later Bolt had his second of the day as he took advantage of a disastrous defensive mix-up to walk the ball into the net.

It remains to be seen if the fastest man on the planet will be rewarded with a contract for his efforts. However, he certainly hasn’t done his chances any harm today.
