Betting suspended on Tottenham not playing at new stadium all season

A series of phone punts has forced our hand into suspending the market on Tottenham not playing in their new stadium this season…

We have stopped taking bets on Spurs not playing at their new stadium all season – after a series of bets in the North London area.

Having been bombarded with phone bets, we’ve had to suspend betting on the market.

The price for Spurs not to play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium all season was 25/1 this morning, but the pattern of bets over the last few hours has led Paddy Power to stop accepting bets on the market.

It was reported yesterday that the delay is down to ‘faulty wiring’, with other reports suggesting that staff working on the project have had their contracts extended until after Christmas.

Asked about the matter spokesman Paddy Power said: “When Tottenham boasted of an electric atmosphere at their new stadium, I don’t think dodgy wiring was what supporters had in mind.

“Given the betting activity we’ve witnessed today, I’d say it’s unlikely that we’ll see the new stadium unveiled this season – those poor Tottenham fans will have to make do with Wembley. Just another year till you get your cheese shop.”
