94th minute Aston Villa winner sees punter beat over 5000/1 odds on acca

Our winner was laughing all the way to the bank as Aston Villa left it late to not only stun Wigan Athletic, but our bean counters too…

We’ve all been there on a Saturday, throwing a simple £1 multi-team accumulator on for a bit of interest in the afternoon’s kick-offs.

After all – unless you are a fan of the teams – there’s not much reason to care about the result of Crawley Town v Stevenage – with all due respect to both sides of course.

However, one lucky punter from Hertford has them and a last gasp, 94th minute winner from Aston Villa’s Birkir Bjarnason to thank for beating odds of 5,482/1 in his nine-fold accumulator last weekend.

What had he on his betslip you ask? Check out the following:

Blackpool v Portsmouth: Portsmouth to win – 6/4
Newcastle v Tottenham: Both teams to Score – 4/5
Wolves v Everton: Both teams to Score – 10/11
Huddersfield Town v Chelsea: Chelsea To Win to Nil – 7/5
Aston Villa v Wigan: Aston Villa win & Both to Score – 7/2
Swansea v Preston: Swansea To Win to Nil – 11/4
Luton v Sunderland: Both teams to Score – 4/6
Norwich v West Brom: West Brom win & Both to Score – 9/2
Crawley Town v Stevenage:  Both teams to Score – 8/11

While sitting pretty on eight legs of his acca for most of Saturday afternoon, our winner must have cursed Steve Bruce’s men as they surprisingly slipped 2-1 behind at home newly promoted Wigan in the 55th minute.

An own goal from Wigan’s Cheyenne Dunkley levelled matters just after the hour mark, but our crafty customer had to wait all the way into the fourth minute of injury time to claim his £5,483 prize.

While it might not be a humongous win in terms of cash, it’s was a massive turnover on the odds and we felt it was only right to tip our cap to our winner.

Not bad for a £1 stake eh?
