Celtic crowned champions again as we pay out after just one game

After seeing Rangers and Aberdeen play out an uninspiring 1-1 draw, we’ve already had enough and we’ve paid out on Celtic winning the league again…

We have paid out on Celtic as champions of Scotland, just one game into the 2018/19 campaign.

It comes after Rangers and Aberdeen, likely the two teams to get closest – or should that be close-ish? – to Celtic, drew on Sunday.

A last-minute equaliser denied Steven Gerrard a winning start to life in the Scottish Premiership, and already leaves his Gers side trailing Celtic in the table, with the reigning champions having dispatched of Livingston 3-1.

As a result, we’ve paid out on Brendan Rodgers’s side lifting the title for the eighth season in succession.

They are already 1/12 to win the league with Rangers (9/1) and Aberdeen (20/1) a considerable distance behind in the market.

Asked about the paying out spokesman Paddy Power said: “One game into the Scottish league season and Steven Gerrard has already slipped up.

“On the face of it, a draw with Aberdeen isn’t a bad result, and we’re sure Stevie G will emphasise the positives of that display, but we do also think the title race is done.

“It’s only one game into the season, but Celtic’s lead already looks unassailable.”
