Watch: Chicago winger lashes outrageous volley into the top corner

With the Premier League season coming to an end soon, we have to look further afield now for our football fix and we found this beauty…

Now that Major League Soccer has been injected with the gift of Zaltan, we here in Power Tower reckon it’s cool again.

We’re just kidding of course, mainly because we are currently watching the replay of yesterday’s game between FK Jelgava and Riga FC in the Latvian Virsliga.

Anyways, back to our story. New York Red Bulls were taking on Chicago Fire last night at the Red Bull Arena and it was a stunning strike from Serbian winger Aleksandar Katai that caught our eye.

The former Red Star Belgrade man, who is on loan at The Fire from La Liga outfit Alavés, spectacularly opened the scoring in the 31st minute when he latched onto a clearance from a corner and smacked an unstoppable volley into the top corner. Chicago went on to win the game 2-1, despite a consolation goal from New York’s Bradley Wright-Phillips.

It really is one of the goals of the weekend though, and you can enjoy it for yourself thanks to Chicago Fire’s twitter account below:
