Watch: Zlatan shows United what they’re missing with debut stunner in the US

Pick that one out…

Let’s face it, Zlatan Ibrahimović’s debut in Major League Soccer was never going to be a quiet affair, was it?

After all the man took out a full-page newspaper advert in Los Angeles Times simply reading, “Dear Los Angeles, you’re welcome” after his signing for LA Galaxy was confirmed last month.

However, even the great Swede must been have wondering what kind of impact he could make on his first appearance when he came on as a 71st minute substitute with his side trailing 3-1 in the first ever LA derby in the MLS.

A brace of goals from former Arsenal man Carlos Vela and an own goal from Daniel Steres had Los Angeles FC in total control at 3-0 just three minutes into the second half. However, Galaxy hit back with strikes from Sebastian Lletget and Chris Pontius to make it 3-2 and then it was Zlatan time!

In typical spectacular fashion, the former Manchester United man stole the headlines when he latched onto a long ball over the top and slammed home a sensational drive over the Los Angeles FC keeper from 40 yards out.

Go golly that’s wonderful!

Of course, he wasn’t done there and as the clocked ticked over the 90-minute mark, Zlatan popped up with a last gasp winner to snatch a 4-3 victory to send the StubHub Center crazy.
