Watch: Millwall fan would rather not be promoted just to play West Ham

Needless to say, the BBC 606 gang couldn’t get their heads around this one, especially since The Hammers would have to get relegated first…

The BBC offer a wonderful platform to football supporters to air their views and vent their frustrations on the 606 show every weekend.

Most of the time the programme features good-natured debate between the hosts, ex-pros and the callers. However, every once in a while, things can get a little strange and yesterday was one of those occasions all thanks to one Millwall fan.

Jason Mohammad and Robbie Savage answered a call from one Lions supporter who actually said he’s “praying” for his club to remain in the Championship and not be promoted to the Premier League.

The fan’s reason you ask? He is hoping that the club’s London rivals West Ham United and Crystal Palace come down from the top tier so that Millwall can (in his words) “trash them” (on the field of course)!

The Lions have performed above all expectations this campaign after being promoted by winning the League One Play-Offs last season. Neil Harris currently has his charges on a 13-game unbeaten run since New Year’s Day and they sit just a point off the Championship’s top six.

This is a weird one to say the least and you can watch it for yourself thanks to BBC 606 below:
