Watch: Leigh Griffiths leads Celtic fans in celebration inside Ibrox away end

There nothing like the feeling of Old Firm victory for fans and players of The Bhoys it seems…

Leigh Griffiths

Celtic came out on top in a topsy-turvy and typically feisty Old Firm Derby today and there was no happier man in Ibrox than Leigh Griffiths it seems.

Griffiths, who is currently unavailable to Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers with a calf problem, sat in the away end at the home of Rangers today and – like the rest of us – was witness to an epic encounter between Scotland’s top two.

The home side took the lead after just three minutes through Josh Windass, but that was quickly answered by a stunning drive from outside the box by Tom Rogic for the green side of Glasgow. Daniel Candeias popped up at the back post in the 26th minute to restore the advantage for Rangers and that lasted until the stroke of half-time, as Moussa Dembele looped in a leveller to make it 2-2 at the break.

It looked like things were going the way of Rangers when Celtic centre half Jozo Simunovic was sent off for aiming an elbow in the direction of Alfredo Morelos. However, Odsonne Edouard settled matters just two minutes after coming on as a substitute for The Bhoys with a lovely curling effort into the far corner, sealing a 3-2 for the Scottish Premiership leaders.

After the game, Griffiths was clearly delighted with his teammates efforts and led the Celtic fans in celebration by grabbing a huge flag in the Ibrox away end.

He also symbolically tied a Celtic scarf to the stadium’s railings as the victory sent his side nine points clear of Rangers at the top of the table, with a game in hand on their greatest rivals.

There’s nothing like a good Old Firm Derby eh?
