It has become a slightly unfair trope that, in recent years at least, Arsenal players who have moved away from the Emirates have tended to experience a sudden upturn in form. Whether or not this is actually true, such discussions have gone into overdrive with the transfer of a certain England attacker to Sam Allardyce’s Everton in January.
Big Sam will surely not hesitate to claim the credit for [Redacted]’s renaissance. He’s never been slow to get in a dig at Arsène Wenger.
But we were a touch surprised to notice that, down through the decades, very few players have actually had the pleasure of being managed by Big Sam and Big Weng. How many of them can you remember?
Note: Players must have played a LEAGUE game for both Sam Allardyce and Arsène Wenger. For example, Guy Demel, who was at West Ham under Sam and was on the books at Arsenal under Wenger but never played in the league, doesn’t count.
