With Tottenham playing twice in two days, Fantasy Premier League players all over the world scrambled to make star striker Harry Kane their captain in the lead up to last night’s game with Swansea.
However, disaster would strike in the build-up as the Spurs talisman was struck down with illness and only managed to make the bench for the game at the Liberty Stadium.
With the match still in the balance at 1-0, Fantasy players thought they were given a reprieve as Mauricio Pochettino called Kane to come on with 22 minutes remaining.
Even with the sniffles, the England frontman proved to be key as he provided a wonderful defence-splitting pass to set up Dele Alli for a game-sealing second.
That goal had lovers of the online game delighted as they believed they’d get an extra three points from Kane’s assist, but then the following tweet appeared:
Goal – ALLI
Assist – none

Turns out, since Alli’s initial attempt was saved by Lukasz Fabianski and rebounded to the Tottenham midfielder to score, that Kane’s sensational pass doesn’t count as an assist in the game. Well, it’s fair to say that decision pi**ed off quite a few people:
KANE OR WE RIOT

Don’t be robbing that assist off Kane

Funny way of spelling Kane

EXCUSE ME . KANE JUST PLAYED ONE OF THE BEST PASSES YOU WILL SEE, AND IT DOESNT COUNT HAS HIS??? DISGRACE

To make matters worse, the Fantasy Premier League’s twitter account then decided to troll those with Kane in their teams further by reminding them he’d only got a measly single point from his exploits last night.
That didn’t go down to well either:
He will if you actually give him his assists

Rules are rules we suppose, but imagine if you’d played your ‘triple captain’ on Kane? This author was one of those that did last night…
