Gareth Bale now odds-on to join Manchester United in January

Could the Welsh superstar be back on his way to the Premier League?

Jose Mourinho looks set to address Manchester United’s faltering season the only way he knows how – by reaching for the chequebook and we have slashed the odds on Gareth Bale arriving at Old Trafford next month.

The out of favour Real Madrid winger was courted by United prior to his switch to La Liga, and the Reds could now be set to get their man – after we performed a ‘monster plunge’ on the odds of him signing in January.

The deal is now odds-on (1/2) to happen, which works out at a 66.7% probability, having been 10/1 (approx. 9% chance) less than 24 hours ago.

While, across Manchester, Pep Guardiola’s City are similarly short-priced (4/11) to sign United old boy Jonny Evans from West Brom.

Asked about a possible Bale transfer spokesman Paddy Power said: “Jose Mourinho clearly needs a bail out this season, and it looks like he’s getting that with a Bale in.

“We have seen crazy numbers on this transfer taking place over the last 24 hours, forcing the traders to perform a monster plunge on the odds of Gareth Bale arriving at Old Trafford in January.”
