Ok, we get it, you don’t watch Italian football any more. Dodgy grounds and a lack of star names, as well as the ascendancy of the Premier League and La Liga, most likely account for that.
Fair enough, but there was a time when Serie A was the best league in the world, when England’s top tier could only look on with envy at the host of stars pitching up in Italy. Nowhere more so than Milan, where AC and Inter have battled it out for (cliché alert) bragging rights since time immemorial.
So we’ve decided to take a nostalgic glance back to the 1990s and early 2000s, when these two sides were among the finest in the continent. How many of these Milanese stars and saps can you recognise?
