Paddy’s Rewards Club has struck gold again for two of our punters as they now have a £10,000 free bet burning a hole in their pocket this weekend, all thanks to netting our Money Can’t Buy prize.
All they had to do was place five £10 sports bets (or £50 in slot games) in a single week to get a ticket to be in the Paddy’s Rewards Club prize draw.
Now this is where our winners have to be ballsy as – like all free bets – they can’t keep the stake. This means they have to go for it with their punts to bring home the cash.
We caught up with one of our victors named Thomas, who hails from the Yorkshire city of York. He’s informed us that he’s using his £10,000 free bet on a double that could return him £16,000 if Leicester and Chelsea win their respective games with weekend.
The Foxes host Crystal Palace on Saturday morning, while Chelsea welcome out-of-sorts Southampton to Stamford Bridge later that afternoon and Thomas tells us that his selection of Leicester came from his dreams.
“As much as this is an outstanding gift from Paddy Power, it’s probably cost me three nights’ sleep with nerves and excitement,” said Thomas.
“I spent the first two nights trying to select the bet, thinking ‘what do I do here?’. I was texting around looking for advice and when I finally got to sleep on the third night I was dreaming about Leicester and that’s why I picked them, I’m not even kidding!”
Thomas plans to watch events unfold on his annual Christmas drinks with his mates in London and he reckons they’re “impressed” by his whopping wager.
“After seeing the midweek results with Leicester smashing Southampton away, I thought the Foxes looked like a pretty good price for a home win at 5/6,” said the man from York.
“Normally I wouldn’t double that bet. However, after asking for advice I got some mixed answers.
“Some mates saying go for a small odds-on shot and the rest saying you have to ‘go big’. I just said to myself when are you ever going to have this chance to place a £10,000 free bet again? So, that’s why I decided to go for the double and up the stakes by picking Chelsea to beat Stoke as well.”
Of course, the conversation then turned to what he’s planning to spend his £16,000 prize pot on if it lands for him this weekend and like most of us, Thomas was dreaming of sunnier climates.
“I’ve got Christmas, so I’m sure plenty will be spent on celebrating!
“Realistically, I’ll head away on holiday in January and take the missus with me. I definitely want to go somewhere warm, maybe it’ll be the Southern Hemisphere – the sun is paramount for us.”
“I’ll be sitting there with my fingers crossed hoping that both wins come in,” said Thomas before we let him go.
So there you go, it’s a huge weekend for two of our loyal punters and we hope they land they’re glorious gamble to make it a very happy Christmas!
