Listen: Former Irish manager savages Xherdan Shaqiri for his ‘funny shape’

Brian Kerr wasn’t holding back on the Stoke winger and let him have it…

When he’s not dropping some hardcore analysis on various Irish TV channels, former Republic boss Brian Kerr can be found as a co-commentator on Today FM these days.

Generally, Kerr tends to come out with some very insightful thoughts on the game leading to calls from the Irish public to get him back involved in some capacity with the FAI. However, while watching Spurs trash Stoke 5-1 at Wembley today, he couldn’t help but leap into a strange rant about Xherdan Shaqiri that he’d obviously been holding onto for a while.

Kerr – who was Ireland manager between 2003 and 2005 – felt that the Stoke winger has the “funniest shape of any player in the Premier League.”

He wasn’t done there adding: “He’s like a bloke you might see standing outside of the pub on a Sunday morning with his bag and his boots ready to play. Then a white van comes along and picks him up.”

All in all, Kerr actually reckons Shaqiri is a good player, but he far from finished dropping gems on the Swiss international saying “his jersey looks bate into him too”. We won’t spoil it all for you, check it out for yourself below:
