Sevilla striker mercilessly sticks it to Liverpool after miracle comeback

He’d better hope he doesn’t turn up in the Premier League any time soon…

Liverpool fans around the world are waking up this morning from a nightmare night in Spain wondering did that really happen?

The Reds knew before kick-off that a win in Seville would advance them to the knock-out stages of the Champions League after Spartak Moscow’s late slip up at home to Maribor and it all started so well.

A double from Roberto Firmino, sandwiching a Sadio Mané strike had Liverpool cruising 3-0 at half-time and surely easing to victory, well Sevilla had other ideas!

Enter French striker Wissam Ben Yedder, who quickly nodded in just six minutes into the second period to get the Spaniards back in the hunt. He followed that up by holding his nerve from a retaken penalty to make it 3-2 and worse was to come for the visitors as Guido Pizarro sealed the sensational turnaround in injury time with a neat finish from a corner.

You’d think having pulled off the miracle of Istanbul that Liverpool of all clubs would have been on their guard at 3-0 up! Well Ben Yedder immediately took to Twitter after the game and wasted no time rubbing it in Liverpool’s faces – let’s just say he’s made no friends on Merseyside with this one and you can check it out below:
