Epic Everton comeback hits Paddy for six-figure sum

There was a sting in the tail for us as The Hornets surrendered a 2-0 lead and we paid out on both teams thanks to our 2 Up You Win promotion…

A crazy contest at Goodison Park today has us counting the cost after our 2 Up You Win promotion left us having to pay out on wins for both the winners Everton and their opponents Watford.

The Toffees’ sticky form of late has been well documented and they went into today’s home game on the back of a five-game losing streak, while Watford have been off colour themselves – dropping their last three on the bounce.

However, given their terrible form of late, Everton supporters would have been forgiven for seeing no light at the end of the tunnel as second half goals from Richarlison and defender Christian Kabasele put Watford 2-0 ahead with less than half hour remaining.

That also sent some of our punters into dreamland, as we paid out early on a victory for The Hornets as part of our 2 Up You Win promotion.

2 Up You Win sees us pay out our punters in full on Premier League, Champions League and La Liga games if their selection goes two goals up. This applies on pre-match singles in the Win-Draw-Win market only.

However, as Everton’s odds drifted as far out as 70/1 for a victory (which two PP punters amazingly capitalised on) the drama was far from over as the Toffees would launch into a sweet comeback from absolutely nowhere.

Just before their second, Watford were forced to bring on little-known substitute goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis after first choice netminder Heurelho Gomes limped off. Unbelievably, the Greek stopper would see three goals slip past him as strikes from Oumar Niasse (67), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (74) and a 91st minute penalty from Leighton Baines totally flipped the game on its head.

To make matters even more bonkers, there was still time for former Everton man Tom Cleverley to miss another penalty 11 minutes into injury time for Watford.

Eventually, the final whistle went and while interim Toffees boss David Unsworth had seen his odds of getting the job full time improve, we have watched over £250,000 disappear out the door.

That’s because after paying out already on a Watford triumph, we then had to shell out on Everton’s win as well.

That 2 Up You Win isn’t half bad at all!

One crafty customer from Bedfordshire saw it all coming though, backing the 200/1 scorecast of a 3-2 Everton with Watford’s Richarlison scoring first.
