The three best #WhatoddsPaddy bets of last week

We selected the pick of the bunch of our requested bets...

What Odds Paddy

Each and every week, we let our loyal punters tweet us @PaddyPower using the hashtag #WhatOddsPaddy with their specific odds requests.

We then pull our traders reluctantly away from the Romanian Liga II game they’re watching and have them crunch the numbers to price them up for our customers.

We get the odd wild one here and there, but for the most part our betting boffins tend to come up with some well thought out efforts.

Get those brains engaged for the next wave everybody! In the meantime, here’s a few of the best winners from last week.

Brighton v Southampton: Exactly 2 goals; exactly 9 corners and exactly 4 cards – 100/1

On what was the furthest thing from a Super Sunday, Brighton and Southampton at least made three punters happy by nailing this 100/1 shot. However, they had to wait all the way until the 91st minute for it to land.

Strikes from Steve Davis and Glenn Murray, respectively, had the opening portion of the bet up with forty minutes remaining and when the nine corners come in, our customers were biting their nails as they were short a single yellow card when the fourth official’s board went up announcing added time.

Thankfully, Brighton’s Gaëtan Bong had their backs and hacked down Shane Long to bring the whopping bet home. It turned out to be wonderful wager for one Waterford bettor who netted over €500 for just a €5 stake. Bong-a-Boom!

Sheffield United to win 2-1 v Leeds; John Fleck to be carded – 50/1

A tough evening under Friday night lights for Leeds United, which turned out great for five PP punters in the UK as they raided us on a 50/1 gamble.

Yet when David Brooks banged his shot into the bottom corner of the Leeds net with nine minutes to go, they still needed Sheffield United’s John Fleck to pick up a card and he duly obliged three minutes later.

Our fab five were sent into dreamland at the final whistle and one customer from Newcastle was confident enough to place a £5 stake on it, netting £255 for himself.

WBA v Man City: Both Teams to Score in 2nd half; West Brom 1st corner & over 3.5 total cards – 20/1

Matthew Phillips and Kyle Walker are not usually the ones putting smiles on punters faces on a regular basis, but a terrific twosome might just be picking up their jerseys in the near future.

After seeing Raheem Sterling put the game to bed in the 64th minute with a strike to make it 3-1 to the visitors, all must have seemed lost as the clock ticked past 90 minutes at the Hawthorns. However, Phillips popped up two minutes into injury time to fulfil the goal requirement of this wager.

However, our duo were still stuck on three yellow cards a minute from time. Cue a moment of stupidity from Kyle Walker, who brought home the bacon for them by deciding to kick the ball away, drawing a flash of yellow from the ref.

That’s what £50 million buys you!
