Davey got it? Odds on Moyes taking Scotland job shorten by the hour

Someone's a bit of a glutton for punishment

David Moyes is the clear front-runner to replace Gordon Strachan as Scotland boss, so we’re cutting the price on him landing the job on an hourly basis.

Already this morning the former Manchester United manager has seen his price cut from 17/10 at 8am, to 11/8 at 9am, and now 6/5 at 10am.

Yesterday, the big mover in the market had been SFA Performance Director Malky Mackay, who was at one stage joint-favourite for the role having been slashed in from 6/1, but has now drifted to 3/1 second-favourite as Moyes closes on a managerial return.

Paul Lambert and Sam Allardyce are both 8/1, while Northern Ireland boss is 12/1.

We’re also offering odds on how the vertically-challenged Scotland team could look under Moyes, offering odds of 8/1 that his first squad contains more than ten six-footers.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “David Moyes has been steadily backed by our punters – if only you’d had the same support from the Manchester United board, eh David?

“But it looks like the SFA are going to bring the Moyes – a six-foot-something former centre half from East Dunbartonshire. It’s almost as if they’re trying to disprove any mad-cap theories about Scottish genetics.”
