It’s been a pretty shit afternoon to be a Watford fan. It was absolutely pelting it down at Vicarage Road today, where Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side came, saw and conquered.
They scored six goals for the first time under Pep – and for the first time since a 6-1 win over Newcastle in 2015.
It was probably more of a butchering than a win. A relentless battering of goals, where we would estimate at least one million shots were aimed at Heurelho Gomes, including a hat-trick for Sergio Aguero.
To put it simply: it was brutal. And if you’re a Watford fan you’ll be avoiding the watercooler at work for the foreseeable future.

So, what would posses one of our punters to back Watford to beat City 4-0 before the game? We’re not sure entirely, but we admire his ridiculous optimism.
