While Celtic go into Europe, Rangers are still a ‘work in Progrés’

It’s been hard for Gers fans to watch the success of their greatest rivals recently, so we thought we’d help with the rebuild…

As Celtic kick-off their European campaign this evening, long-suffering Rangers fans have seen their club branded a “work in Progrés”.

We travelled to Ibrox this morning to set up a construction site outside in order to show the Glasgow public that work has begun – because, let’s face it, no one actually at the club has managed to convey that message recently.

After embarrassingly losing to Luxemburg outfit Progrès Niederkorn in the first round of Europa League Qualifiers and missing out on European football this season, Gers fans will be green with envy watching arch rivals Celtic get their Champions League adventure underway against star-studded Paris Saint-Germain tonight.

So, to poke fun at beleaguered Rangers, we threw up an impromptu building site next to the Ibrox gates this morning. It came complete with construction workers, cones and the all-important ‘Caution: Work in Progrés’ road signs.

To be fair, Celtic face almost as big a task in their Champions League group – which also contains giants Bayern Munich and Anderlecht – as Rangers do of somehow wrestling the Scottish Premiership from the grasp of their Glasgow rivals.

The Bhoys come in at a whopping 45/1 to top Group B, while Brendan Rodgers’ men can be found a 11/1 to qualify for the knockout stages of Europe’s premier club competition.

Hey, our builders might just be needed at Celtic Park come the end of this Champions League campaign as well!

Although, Celtic are 3/1 to finish in a higher position in Group B then Pedro Caixinha’s men manage in the Scottish Premiership. That’s if you fancy the remodel to continue into past the end of the season. Let’s face it, aren’t builders always getting delayed?

Asked about our rebuild at Ibrox spokesman Paddy Power said: “I’m sorry to say, Rangers fans, that your season is now effectively as good as over.

“That’s hard enough to take, but with Celtic already basking in the glamour of the Champions League, clearly some serious rebuilding needs to take place at Ibrox.

“Still, there’s always Partick Thistle away on Friday night, right lads?”
